Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) has released their monthly data and the sale of passenger cars have witnessed a rise of 6% during February 2022. In the second month of this year 18,054 cars have been sold as opposed to 16,985 units sold in January 2022.
The PAMA data however shows that despite the push by a number of new auto manufacturers to enter the Pakistan automotive market, people are still preferring the big three brands of Pakistan.
Suzuki is leading the list with their small but fuel efficient and easy maintenance cars. Toyota is still love and preferred as the most reliable car while Honda City is in the competition because of the sporty look and having the best mileage in petrol in sedan body cars.
Here is a list of the best selling cars in Pakistan.
Suzuki Alto leads the list of the best selling cars in Pakistan. Suzuki Alto has demonstrated that it is a worthy successor to the famous Mehran. Despite much lower sales than in December 2021, the Alto was still Pakistan’s best-selling passenger car.
PSMC sold 7,175 Altos in February and 3,864 units in January, making it the best-selling car in Pakistan for the second month in a row since the start of the year.
Toyota Corolla is the 2nd best selling car in Pakistan. The Toyota Corolla has recaptured the distinction of “best-selling sedan” in Pakistan, despite being targeted mainly at Pakistan’s top socioeconomic class.
Last month, Toyota IMC sold 3,435 Corollas, an increase of 1.8 percent YoY and a significant MoM gain of 80.6 percent, making it the month’s second best-selling vehicle.
Honda City is the 3rd best selling car in Pakistan. Despite a six-month delivery wait, the ‘new-model’ Honda City has gained tremendous popularity in Pakistan. According to our sources, HACL sold 2,928 City sedans in Pakistan in January 2022, making it the country’s second best-selling sedan.
The popularity of the City is largely attributable to the fact that it is a major improvement over its predecessor, the fifth generation City. Despite the fact that it is still a generation old, its popularity ensures that it will continue to be sold in Pakistan for another decade. Let’s hope HACL disproves our assumptions.
Toyota Yaris is the 4th best selling car in Pakistan. In Pakistan, the Yaris has been selling at a poor rate recently. For the previous two months, the car has sold less units than the Corolla and Corolla and the City. Last month, Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) sold 2,093 units of the Yaris, making it the month’s fourth best-selling vehicle.
Suzuki Wagon R
Suzuki Wagon R is the 5th best selling car in Pakistan. The Wagon R consistently ranks among Pakistan’s top-five selling. The Wagon R was sold in 1,537 units by PSMC. These numbers have re-established the Wagon R as one of Pakistan’s best-selling vehicles, confirming its status as a perennial top performer.
