State of the art centre to be established in Karachi to promote Animation Sector

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication is constructing a state-of-the-art Center of Excellence in Karachi to promote the animation industry, according to IT Minister Syed Aminul Haque.

Speaking to a team from the global digital giant Tencent Holdings, the minister asserted that Pakistan’s animation industry currently earns roughly $50 million in export earnings.

Lih Shuin Goh, Senior Director of Public Affairs Singapore, led the tour, according to a news release.

Haque emphasized the ministry’s dedication to supporting and growing the local animation and video game development sectors while noting that they are still in their infancy and that a lot of work is being done in these fields.

He continued by saying that the IT ministry had constructed an animation studio at the National Incubation Center (NIC) in Karachi. The minister assured the group that he would give the gaming and animation industries in the nation all the help and assistance they would need to develop.

Lih Shuin Goh, who briefed the minister on the activities of his company, claimed that Tencent Games is the largest global platform for video game creation, publication, and operations, committed to offering top-notch interactive entertainment experiences for gamers everywhere.

Tencent Games currently provides more than 140 self-developed and licensed games in 200 countries and territories, he continued, adding that Pakistan had tremendous potential and was a key market for the company.
