Babar Azam fastest to 15 ODI Centuries while chasing record 348

Babar Azam scored a century in the second One-Day International (ODI) against Australia at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, setting a record of 15 ODI centuries in the fewest number of innings.

Previously Hashim Amla of South Africa scored 15 centuries in 86 innings, Babar Azam completed 15 centuries in 83 innings.

Earlier, in the first ODI against Australia, Babar Azam became the fastest Asian cricketer to reach 4,000 runs.

Babar Azam reached 4,000 runs in ODI cricket in 82 innings, making him the second fastest player in the world. Previously Hashim Amla had the record while Virat Kohli was also in the list of fastest batsmen to do fastest 15 centuries.

Pakistan defeated Australia by six wickets in the second One-Day International, chasing a record-breaking 349 runs. With their tons, Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam starred in the chase. Fakhar Zaman’s and Khushdil Shah’s quick knocks helped chase the target successfully.

Babar Azam selected as captain of ICC T20I team of the year

With his 15th ODI century, Babar Azam became the Pakistan captain with the most ODI hundreds. This was Babar’s 4th century as the Captain of Pakistan Cricket Team.

Azhar Ali previously held the record with three ODI hundreds while captaining Pakistan, followed by Shahid Afridi and Inzamam-ul-Haq, both of whom scored two tons as captains.
