Change of regime in Pakistan shows United States panicking over Ukraine crisis

In 2011 terrorism was on peak. Suicide bombings were common. Hopelessness and terrorism was on its climax. In such scenario Pakistan wanted to diversify her relations in the region. For which Pakistan’s foreign policy should be sovereign in the first place.

To achieve this target, in 2014, under the supervision of Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif different operations against terrorism got started. In 2015, many long-term communications and energy projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) were initiated with China. In addition to this, in 2016, Russian troops landed in Pakistan for the first time to conduct joint military ventures.

As Pakistan was moving forward Panama Leaks erupted and the then sitting Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, was removed on corruption charges. For the first time accountability on high level began as said by an Indian diplomat M. K. Bhadrakumar in 2019 “Pakistan has taken her track now”.

Moving forward, Operation Swift Retort was conducted in retaliation to the Indian Air Force (IAF) airstrike inside Pakistan. Kartarpur Corridor was opened. Pakistan got an exemplary success in the management of Covid-19 in 2020.

In 2020, the United States withdrew from Afghanistan and four regional countries, Russia, Iran, China and Pakistan came on same page on Afghan issue. They pledged to stop foreign spoilers and solve regional issues in the region. However, United States was waiting for the right situation to strike to recover their diminishing influence in the region and to counter China.

When Russia invaded Ukraine, America got their opportunity to keep her sway in the region for which first of all they attempted to bring regime change in Kazakhstan. But China and Russia timely thwarted the western conspiracy.

According Bhadrakumar, from Kazakhstan to Myanmar, from Solomon Islands to the Kuril Islands, from North Korea to Cambodia, from China to India, Pakistan and Afghanistan the fault lines are appearing which United States is trying to exploit. The main target of the West is weak countries which can not sustain its pressure.

Key things to know about the start of Russia-Ukraine war

In Asia, Japan is considered as an economic power but it also has military agreements with the West. Therefore Japan accepted all the sanctions imposed by western powers against Russia and freezed the assets of 398 Russians including Putin’s daughter. Japan declared the Russian invasion of Kuril Islands illegal.

Now come to South Asia; in amid Russia Ukraine crisis and imposition of sanction against Russia, India refused to kneel down under US pressure. According to India’s Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar, Indian oil imports in a month are lesser than Europe does in an afternoon and decided to sign Russia oil deal. It compromises the strategic relations of India and the West. To mount further pressure, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that , “US is monitoring the rise in rights abuses in India”.

In addition to this Nepal was about to ratify Millennium Challenge Corporation agreement but couldn’t and kneeled down to the threat of middle ranking US officials. Similarly the regime change in Pakistan is partly at-least related to Afghanistan. The Russian foreign ministry has disclosed certain details of the US interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs and its pressure on former PM Imran Khan. According to M.K. Bhadrakumar, United States is inducting Pakistan into its orbit and making it a surrogate to leverage the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.

Why not Imran Khan?

Because he was always against US policies on Afghanistan. On multiple time on foreign media he exposed them in clear words and it was unacceptable to US. Imran khan wanted to deal with the Taliban and terrorism on his own terms and wanted to have sovereign foreign policy.

Imran khan not only refused sharing the US policies on Afghanistan but also took regional countries on board on Afghanistan peace process to stop the ways of foreign intervention in the region as America is the declining power and wants to revive her old world order.

This step of regime change pulled Pakistan back to in US orbit. All state machinery of Pakistan joined hands to accomplish this mission and a person who is on bail for serious money laundering charges has been made the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
