Haier begins exporting “Made in Pakistan” appliances to African countries

With a market share of 32 percent in Pakistan, Haier is the industry leader in home appliances. Most key household appliance categories, like air conditioners and washing machines, as well as refrigerators and deep freezers, are led by Haier. It is now the only firm in Pakistan that manufactures and assembles laptops locally.

Pakistan bans import of cars, mobile phones and all non-essential, luxury items

The Haier manufacturing complex is located in Lahore’s Haier industrial park and spans 63 acres with a built-up area of 1,000,000 square feet, containing a variety of production lines.

Haier Pakistan’s product portfolio has quickly expanded from refrigerators, air conditioners, and washing machines to include deep freezers, commercial air conditioners, laptops, LED TVs, microwave ovens, water dispensers, and small domestic products, totaling several hundred models of home appliances.

Javed Afridi hints at iPhone assembly plant in Pakistan

For the first time now, Haier have started exporting its appliances to East African country Djibouti and will soon expands its export market.

Javed Afridi, the CEO of Haier Pakistan shared the news on Twitter that his company have achieved the milestone of starting exports to other countries. As the products are made in Pakistan, it will help the economy by increasing exports and reducing imports.

In a recent development, Pakistan’s government have decided to ban imports of luxury items which also includes electrical appliances. Pakistan have also started exporting “Made in Pakistan” mobile phones in the past one year to different countries.

Javed Afridi, the CEO of Haier Pakistan is also working on a big project to start manufacturing electric and hybrid MG SUVs in Pakistan and the manufacturing plant is in construction process.
