Pakistan IT Services Exports increased by 30% to earn $1.68 Billion in 8 months

During the first eight months of the fiscal year 2021-22, Pakistan earned US $1.68 Billion by offering various information technology (IT) services in other nations.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), this is a 29.90 percent increase over the US $1.30 Billion received through service provision during the same period of the fiscal year 2020-21.

From July to February 2021-22, computer services exports increased by 32.06 percent, rising from US $1.02 Billion last fiscal year to US $1.35 Billion this fiscal year. Software consultancy services exports increased 45.59 percent from US $341.122 million to US $496.634 million, while hardware consultancy services exports increased 284.74 percent from US $0.380 million to US $1.462 million. Computer software-related exports and imports both increased by 41.16 percent, from $250.986 million to $354.284 million, while repair and maintenance services exports increased to $0.776 million from $0.377 million.

Additionally, other computer services exports climbed by 15.80%, from US$ 431.965 million to US$ $500.216 million. Meanwhile, during the period under review, the export of information services climbed by 29.48 percent, from US $2.680 million to US $3.470 million. News agency services exports climbed by 61.40 percent, from US $ 1.412 million to US $ 2.279 million, while other information services exports fell by 6.07 percent, from US $1.268 million to US $1.191 million.

Additionally, other computer services exports climbed by 15.80%, from US$ 431.965 million to US$ $500.216 million. Meanwhile, during the period under review, the export of information services climbed by 29.48 percent, from US $2.680 million to US $3.470 million.
