Pakistan’s exports to USA increased by 40.27pc in last 9 months

Pakistan’s exports of products and services to the United States of America (USA) increased by 40.27 percent in the first three quarters of fiscal year (2021-22).

Overall Pakistan’s exports to the USA were $5000.275 million in July-March (2021-22), up from $3564.575 million in July-March (2020-21), a 40.27 percent increase, according to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) figures released on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s exports to the USA climbed by 21.80% year over year in March 2022, from $484.376 million to $590.001 million. Similarly, exports to the United States increased by 7.69% month over month in March 2022, compared to exports of $547.856 million in February 2022, according to SBP data.

In nine months, Pakistan’s exports to USA and other foreign countries increased by 26.64 percent, from $18.713 billion to $23.699 billion.

Imports from the United States, on the other hand, totaled $2227.417 million during the period under review, up from $1778.120 million the previous year, representing a 25.26 percent increase in the last nine months.

However, imports from the United States fell 2.31 percent year over year in March 2022, from $284.597 million to $278.008 million.

For the first time, Pakistan’s exports in February remained above $100 million per day

The imports from the United States fell by 3.89 percent month over month in March 2022, compared to $289.273 million in February 2022, according to SBP data. Overall imports climbed by 41.33 percent, rising from $38.061 billion to $53.795 billion.
