Federal government is planning on launching skill-based internships for 150,000 jobless graduates who will be paid monthly stipend of 30,000 rupees for the next six months.
In his address to the nation on Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced a series of economic relief measures to bring huge assistance to the people and stressed an independent foreign policy amid the ongoing Ukraine-Russia crisis.
Among the many immediate economic relief package, he announced the reduction in petrol, diesel, and electricity prices and decided to increase the Ehsaas programme’s cash handouts from Rs 12,000 to Rs 14,000.
Moreover, the premier announced a complete tax exemption for the IT sector adding that no foreign exchange restriction will be imposed on them. Moreover, IT startups will no longer have to pay capital gains tax.
He also said that 26,000 scholarships — costing Rs 38 billion — will be given to students but most importantly, he announced that jobless graduates would be awarded internships and a stipend of Rs 30,000.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office official twitter handle, 150,000 graduates will be provided skill-based internships worth Rs. 30,000 per month for the next 6 months. The way to get these stipends will be revealed very soon.
The skill-based internships announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan will be provided to graduates which weren’t able to get jobs even after completing their degrees.
The Prime Minister Youth Internship Program will be available to both male and female graduates from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KPK, AJK, and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
