As a plan to reduce traffic issues and and reduce traffic signals in busy areas, Rawal Chowk Flyover and 7th Avenue overpass are being constructed.
The construction work on the Rawal Chowk Flyover and 7th Avenue Underpass by the Capital Development Authority is in full swing, as the municipal agency is committed to complete the mammoth projects within the period set.
Rawal Chowk Flyover will help to reduce the traffic congestion to and from Park road towards Serena and towards Faizabad. The mega project will be completed by March 2022. 7th Avenue Underpass will help with the traffic congestion reduction on Kashmir highway. The project will be completed by June 2022, respectively.
Syed Asif Raza, a spokesman for the CDA, said on Friday that growing vehicular traffic necessitated the development of additional strategic routes to alleviate excessive congestion during peak hours.
“After finalization of the mega connectivity initiatives, special reflectors will be installed to facilitate commuters for identifying their route while travelling to avoid inconvenience,” he told APP.
Highlighting the importance of plantation, he said special greenbelts would be made across the underpasses to provide green and serene landscape for the road users. “With an aim to avoid cutting trees CDA transplanted the mature trees from the Rawal Dam Chowk vicinity to other suitable places of the federal capital,” he said.
