Xiaomi Mobiles to manufactured in Pakistan. PTA grants license to Select Technologies

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) have granted manufacturing license to Select Technologies Pvt. Ltd (owned subsidiary of Air Link Communication Ltd.). Xiaomi will be able to manufacture mobile phones to Pakistan which will be a big step towards MADE IN PAKISTAN.

Air Link Communication Limited is establishing itself as one of the country’s leading mobile phone distributors and manufacturers. Air Link was distributor of Huawei in Pakistan. Air Link Group already has a license to manufacture Tecno and iTel phones, two of Transsion Holding’s biggest brands. With this license, Air Link Communication Ltd becomes the only firm in Pakistan to have manufacturing contracts and licenses with two of the world’s largest mobile phone providers.

Xiaomi, the global consumer electronics and smartphone manufacturer, announced Select Technologies (Pvt) Limited (SELECT) as its manufacturing partner for Xiaomi mobile phones in Pakistan earlier this month, with an initial production capacity of 2.5 million to 3 million handsets per year.
